A day to draw attention with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and face painting: showing presence and speaking to the public, with members of Falkirk for Palestine.

The village of Jayyous commemorated the memory of Tom Wallace, a long-standing member of the group and friend of Jayyous who sadly passed away in November 2023, as well as celebrating the friendship and support from Rev. Bob Philip by planting olive and fruit trees.

The group met at the end of December 2024 to celebrate Bob’s birthday and to thank him for his hard work over the last 20 years of being at the helm of the Antonine Friendship Link. Bob was presented with gifts and faces old and new came to wish him all the very best.

Greetings friends.
Apologies for the lack of website updates over recent times.
We are pleased to report that we held our AGM on the 25th June. We elected a new, slightly bigger, committee, received the annual financial report and started to make plans for the next twelve months.Â
The meeting was also fortunate enough to hear a very instructive, if saddening, talk from a recently returned Ecumenical Accompanier (World Council of Churches) on what is happening in the West Bank.
The meeting praised and thanked Rev. Bob Philip who stepped down as Chair of AFL after 20 years in post, but has agreed to remain on the committee. We also recognised and paid tribute to our dear friend and fellow campaigner, Tom Wallace, who sadly passed during the last year. Both Bob and Tom were founder members of our group, and steadfastly fought for a peaceful solution to the Palestine/Israel conflict and championed the cause of freedom for the Palestinian people and against the illegal actions of the state of Israel.
We also had a very successful stall at the annual Charities Day in Falkirk Town Centre on the 27th July. We were able to raise much-needed funds for Jayyous through Palestinian goods sales and bric-a-brac, as well as raising awareness of the current situation.
